Levy Information
Brought to you by Rhonda D. Eddy, Allen County Auditor

The next election will be held on November 3, 2009. Levy information is provided for Allen County subdivisions that will be on the ballot on this date. There are four levies on the ballot this election cycle and you will be deciding the outcomes. Study the issues and vote.

Perry Township (New Police Protection for 2.00 mills)

Perry Township is asking the voters to approve a new police protection levy for 5 years.  This levy will generate about $159,939.00 per year. This levy is not subject to reimbursement for the loss of personal property tax because it is a new levy. This levy, if approved, will be on the tax duplicate for tax year 2009 with collections beginning in 2010.

Village of Fort Shawnee (Renewal for Police Protection Services levy for 1.00 mills)

Village of Fort Shawnee is requesting the renewal of an existing police protection levy for five years.  This levy, if renewed, will provide about $54,230.00 per year and will be on the tax duplicate for tax year 2009 with collections beginning in 2010. Since this is a renewal levy it should not increase the taxes of the residents.  Since this is an existing levy, it qualifies for the personal property tax reimbursement.

Lima City Schools (Renewal with a decrease of an Emergency levy for 5.34 mills)

The Lima City School District is requesting the renewal of an existing emergency levy for five years.  This levy, if renewed, will provide about $1,652,234.00 per year and will be on the tax duplicate for tax year 2010 with collections beginning in 2011. Since this is a renewal levy it should not increase the taxes of the residents.  Since this is an existing levy, it qualifies for the personal property tax reimbursement.

Delphos City School District (Additional Current Expense levy for 1.46 mills)

Delphos City School District is asking the voters to approve an additional current expense levy for 5 years.  This levy is considered an additional levy because if it passes the current PI levy for 2.25 mills passed in May 2009 will be dropped.  This additional levy will generate about $236,684 per year.  This levy, if approved, will be on the tax duplicate for tax year 2009 with collections beginning in 2010.
