Greg
Sneary is a lifelong resident of Allen County. He grew
up in Bath Township and attended Bath Schools until graduating
in 1974. Greg lived in the city of Lima for ten years
until moving to American Tonwship where he has resided since
1991.
Greg
is married to his wife Sarah of twenty six years and they
have one daughter Kimberly Ann . Kim graduated from Elida
High School and is currently enrolled in Rhodes State College.
Greg is the son of Bernard and Virginia Sneary, who are also
lifelong residents of Allen County.
Greg
has a diverse background in both blue and white collar positions.
He has worked in manufacturing, sales and owned and operated
his own business for fourteen years. Most of what
Greg has learned has been through hard work and life experiences.
Greg has a strong faith in God and always draws upon it when
making decisions, whether personal or otherwise.
Greg
was elected an an American Township Trustee in 1996 and was
re-elected to a second term in 2000. After serving for
seven years as trustee, Greg was elected as Allen County Commissioner
and began serving in January 2003. Greg was re-elected
to a second term as Allen County Commissioner in 2007.
Greg has served on numerous boards within the county and as
chairman of several area boards.
Greg
has the distinction of being the only "Independent"
county commissioner in the state of Ohio for the last five
years.
"Allen
County has many fine assets. We can have a bright future
but it's up to use to cultivate it. I view my position
as commissioner as a leadership role to help guide and achieve
our goals. I hold dear to my belief in open government
that has equal access for everyone."
