Shawnee #2 Wastewater Treatment Plant

John Motycka, Hired: April 2005 Current Position: Wastewater Treatment Superintendent. Duties: Supervise operation, maintenance, and staff of the American II & Shawnee II Wastewater Treatment Plants. Education: Associates Degree from Wright State University, Operator Training Committee of Ohio Basic (OTCO) Water Treatment Course, OTCO Advanced Water Treatment Course, and OTCO Advanced Wastewater Treatment Course. Certifications: Ohio EPA Class IV Wastewater Treatment Operator, Ohio EPA Class III Water Treatment Operator, and Ohio Water Environment Association Class II Laboratory Analyst. Professional Organizations: Ohio Water Environment Association, American Water Works Association and OTCO Wastewater Treatment Instructor.
Wes Hites, Hired: Nov. 2003 Current Position: Chief Plant Operator. My responsibilities include overseeing and performing daily operations and maintenance for Shawnee II WWTP. I also perform process control testing and prepare reports required by the Ohio EPA. Licenses and Certificates: Ohio EPA Class III Wastewater Works, Ohio EPA Class III Water Supply, OTCO Basic and Advanced Wastewater Certification, OTCO Basic Water Supply Certification, Cleveland Advanced Water Class. Ohio Licensed Paramedic and a Class A CDL.
Wendell Hurley, Hired: Apr. 1987. Current Position: Maintenance Worker II. My main responsibilities include maintaining all treatment related equipment, grounds and routine testing. I also record all equipment maintenance history and their repairs. Licenses and Certifications: OTCO Advanced Wastewater Certificate, Class A CDL.
Tracy Garwood, Hired May 2006. Current Position: Wastewater Operator III. My responsibilities include the daily operations & maintenance for Shawnee II WWTP. Licenses and Certificates: Ohio EPA Class III Wastewater Works, Ohio EPA Class I Water Supply, OTCO Basic Wastewater I Certificate, OTCO Basic Water Certificate, Class A CDL.
