Biography

 Jim Link took office as Treasurer on April 28^th, 2008. He brings to the office over 20 years of experience in taxes, accounting, and customer service. Building upon the achievements of his predecessor, Auditor Rhonda Eddy-Stienecker, Jim hit the ground running by focusing on delinquent tax collections and the development of new programs to deal with abandoned, vacant parcels throughout the County. As a result, the Treasurer’s Office is expanding communication lines with our local villages, townships and cities in order to improve tax collections and make the office more accessible to the political subdivisions in the county.

Jim’s educational background includes: 

• 1981 Graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School

• 1985 Graduate of Findlay College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education

• 1992 Completed Accounting Coursework for CPA Exam, Lima Technical College

• 1994 Passed all four sections of the Certified Public Accountants Exam

• 2004 Graduate of Tiffin University with a Masters degree in Business Administration

On a professional level, Jim has 14+ years of governmental experience. He spent 3 ½ years working with the Lima Police Department and over 10 years with the Lima City Income Tax Department.   He then served as the senior accountant with Lima Memorial Hospital, and worked for several years as a controller in private industry. In addition, Jim has served as an instructor for the Becker CPA Review for over 12 years and has been involved in pro-bono consulting for charitable organizations

Jim is married with 4 children and has resided here in Allen County his entire life. Jim’s wife Amy teaches second grade at Temple Christian School and they attend Restoration Temple Church here in Lima. 

Jim’s responsibilities include serving on the Board of Revision, the Budget Commission, the Insurance Committee, and the Lima Allen County Land Bank.
