To qualify for benefits, the applicant or
the veteran on whose service the application is based must
have been honorably discharged from active military service
performed for other than training purposes.
To qualify for financial assistance, applicants
must have resided in Ohio for three months prior to application
and in Allen County for three months prior to application.
There are no residency requirements to obtain assistance in
filing claims for Department of Veterans Affairs benefits.
The Veterans Service Commission provides Basic Living Needs
to eligible veterans, family members and widows on and Emergency
Basis. These include: Rent/Shelter, Utilities, Food, and Prescriptions.
